A harrowing journey through a critical health crisis that led to a cardiac arrest close to a fortnight. My experience were both haunting and profoundly soul-stirring while I was in a comatose state. Upon coming out of the coma, the way I spoke, wrote, and lived had transformed forever—a reality I had to accept, one step at a time. With the unwavering love of my family and friends, I found the strength to navigate life after the coma, overcoming trials I never imagined.
This book offers an intimate lens into the emotional, physical, and spiritual depths of a near-death experience, shining a light on the resilience of the human spirit.
I dedicate this to those grappling with life-altering challenges and their loved ones who walk beside them. Together, we prove that hope can prevail, even in the darkest moments.
About the Author
A consultant and social psychologist, Associate Professor Dr Kamal Kenny brings with him over 15 years of experience in the field of training and consultancy. He obtained his degree at University Science Malaysia and later continued with his Masters in Public Health from Wales, UK and then went on to complete his PhD in University Putra Malaysia in Social Psychology. He is the founder of K & J Consultancy, K & J Ventures and K & J Solutions.
In late 2021 he had a near death experience whereby both his kidneys had failed. During the period he was in the hospital, he had developed septicemia which had led him to a comatose state for 14 days. Miraculously with the prayers of family and friends he had been able to come out of his coma. Due to his health conditions, he had lost 80% of his eyesight and speaks with a slur. His weight had also dropped 25kg during his hospitalization. Despite all this, he was discharged from the hospital and continued to render support through FRHAM in the capacity of a chairperson whereby he hopes he would be able to make a difference in the field of Reproductive Health amongst young people globally.
Currently, Kamal is the Chairperson of Federation of Reproductive Health Adolescents Malaysia (FRHAM), former Vice Chairman of Perak Family Health Association and is the Vice President of Malaysian Welfare of Children Council.
